This website has served and still serves as a track of a journey. The pages below the tree structure (links at bottom) of this heading record different parts of a writing and socializing story in parallel to the academy. Biological Ontology is the webtree that captures the writings and exploration in the years from 2005 to 2017. It was preceded by the web incarnation of the Epistemology Express where there is a journal of a trip across the U.S. and Canada between 2000 and 2003 in a RV of the same name to visit universities and check ideas in the fast-changing naturalistic and extended concepts in epistemology and philosophy of mind (see also Road Trip and Journal 1 and Journal 2). It continued to 2006 as years at the Esalen Institute where an annual conference on evolution and consciousness was a touchpoint to progress with my work (Journal 3 and Journal 4). The years after 2006 were a return to work in Berkeley (oil industry, not academia) and the time to fight through the ideas collected in the six previous road years. The Circles section contains articles attempted and not published between 2004 and 2017. These articles start by working to build naturalistic views of ontology and shift to keeping up with all the changes in biology which are, in themselves, enough to rebuild philosophical foundations. Writings still focused on naturalistic views of epistemology from 2001 to 2003 are in EE Writings section. A short Bio is included. Yes, I'm still working and seeking contact and support. |
