Citations (References) by Categories:  This is a collection of excerpts from hundreds of books and articles over 20 years placed here by categories below as hopefully a resource and an inspiration to others as well as for my own resource of reflective gems.  Notes, explanations, & recent additions are at bottom.  See also the complete source list for author index. This category list below is less useful as you will notice that the last six categories are just collections by years. I got in too much of a hurry.  But the complete source list does have all works.  And eact category/section has its own list by author.

And Gratitude to the many dedicated scientists, thinkers, and personal explorers pushing the envelope and teasing the mysteries in this fallow yet promising time.

The separation into the categories listed above is meant to make an unwieldy mass of quotations more accessible although the task proved to be somewhat arbitrary as the categories were formed from my own fall of '06 frame of mind and as content of citations defied categorization, often crossing multiple headings.  Individual quotations are stored in only one category, but books referenced might have their quotes distributed over several categories.  Each category of citations has a list of works cited at the bottom of its webpage although complete reference information is only with the quote.  It goes without saying that the selections are highly skewed by my idiosyncratic tastes; some quotes were gathered as support for ideas while others were gathered for my own memory or for further reflection.

Reasons to use this citations resource:  it could help your research or your imagination; the works referenced are recent; there is a wide diversity of sources more so than is usually found in a given field; you could consider it as reading the "best of" some of the "best of" modern thought; the work of these authors deserves attention or at least consideration; the selection criteria is towards ideas that highlight fissures in our current paradigm and allow kneading a new one.

Reasons NOT to use this citations resource: it is an idiosyncratic selection from one person; selections are more ultimate-meaning oriented than are usually encountered in a given field; it is ultimately a small collection in our metastasizing intellectual landscape.

My Reasons to use this citations resource: it helps me to collect a set of good ideas so that I can reflect on them as my growth and reflections wander.  Having them on the web makes them accessible no matter where I am, and it provides a valuable backup for this large body of work.
